AI Text Summarization

Lineos AI Text Summarization can help you summarize all narratives from subsidiaries or base members and create well-written aggregate comments that capture the key themes and insights quickly, saving significant time during your consolidation and reporting process. This functionality is available in the main comments section.

This feature is available from CXO version 25.2.1 onwards.

Note: The CXO application server needs to connect to the internet to be able to make the API call to the Lineos AI service. Please contact your Customer Success Manager or Account Manager to obtain the necessary API key and to obtain further instructions on how to enable Lineos AI. You only need to activate the API key once to use all Lineos AI features. Besides, Lineos AI needs to be enabled in the Configurator Settings before you can use AI Text Summarization.

To use Lineos Powered AI Text Summarization to generate and summarize comments, follow the steps below:

  1. Select Add or edit comments from the top right toolbar of the report.

  2. The Comments section is now in the edit mode where the Lineos icon is available. This feature is only available at a Parent level.

    Note: The Lineos icon is not available in the Comments section of a base level member where there won’t be further descendants of which the comments could be summarized.

  3. Select the Lineos icon. The Lineos AI Text Summarization window pops up.
  4. Choose the type of members to be included for generating and summarizing the comments.

    • Base only: Summarizes comments from base members only

    • Direct children only: Summarizes comments from direct child entities only

    • All Descendants: Summarizes comments from all descendant entities within the reporting hierarchy (including direct children, grandchildren, and all levels below).

    You can resize the Lineos window or reposition it anywhere on your screen to make browsing the content easier.

  5. Select Summarize now. Lineos provides a detailed summary of the comments.

  6. The generated summary of the content can be copied from the chat window using the copy button available under the final chat widget.

  7. A use case for AI Text Summarization is to generate a summary for key message to add on top of the report between the POV bar and the report content.
