Sign in to Platform - Local and Federated SSO
This page covers the new, restyled workflow for both local and federated login, registration, and forgot password.
User Registration
Once a user is created they are sent a user registration email asking them to activate their account.
The user clicks on Activate my account and this triggers multi-factor authentication. A 6-digit verification code is sent to the user’s email address.
User enters the 6-digit code from their email and clicks on the Verify code button. Alternately, if the verification code was not received, the user can click on the Resend code button.
Upon a successful verification, the user is guided to Change Password page.
After the user creates their new password, they are now navigated to the platform’s homepage.
Sign in to platform
User enters their email address.
Based on your email address domain you can sign in with:
Local Single Sign-on (or)
Federated Single Sign-on (aligned with customer’s single sign-on identity provider)
If your account is configured for Federated SSO, you will be taken to your organization’s single sign-on sign in credentials. Else, you will be directed to the local SSO login page.
Example - Federated SSO sign in flow with insightsoftware (Okta)
Once you are successfully logged in through your organization’s login page, you are presented with your homepage. From the homepage, you will have access to a few major sections:
“Products in your plan” - This will display cards for each insightsoftware product that the user has access to. Each card will have general information on the product along with an ability to launch.
“Discover” - This will display other insightsoftware products that complement the product(s) in the user’s plan
User Management (user icon on left) - If the user has been granted account management privileges, they will also see a user icon on the left navigation bar. Clicking on the user icon will send the user to the User Management page for his account.
Local SSO Sign in
If the customer does not have federated SSO configured, the default behavior will be single sign-on across all insightsoftware applications. We refer to this as local SSO. After the user enters his email address, they will be presented with the following page. Their email will be pre-populated.
After entering the password, you will be guided through multi-factor authentication similar to the User Registration flow. Once the 6-digit verification code is entered, the user is then navigated to the platform home page:
Forgot Password
The user navigates to the platform and needs to enter their email.
The user clicks on Forgot password? to navigate to the forgot password workflow.
The user is once again prompted for their email address.
An email code is sent to verify their account.
Once the user verifies their account, they are allowed to change their password. After changing their password, click Continue.
