Drill Options
The Drill down can be used in both column lists and row lists. Any list item can contain a drilldown list. Drilling down from one list item to another list is only supported in the Financial Statement template, the Multi-Column template, and the Home Page template. It can also be used in table controls in free-format reports.
In the report a plus sign '+' will appear so the user knows there is a drill down available. There are three types of drills: Dynamic Drill, Linked List, or using Shared lists as a drill.
Dynamic Drill
A dynamic drill makes use of the hierarchical relation between members. This means that we show the hierarchical relationships that have been created in the EPM system.
The following options exist for setting dynamic drills:
Type |
Description |
|---|---|
Children Inclusive |
The list will contain all child members of the specified parent. At the end of the list the parent member itself will be added formatted as sum. |
Children Exclusive |
The list will contain all child members of the specified parent. |
Descendants Inclusive |
The list will contain all child members of the specified parent. Each list item that is based on parent member will get the same type of drill list attached. At the end of the list the parent member itself will be added formatted as sum. |
Descendants Exclusive |
The list will contain all child members of the specified parent. Each list item that is based on parent member will get the same type of drill list attached. |
Base Inclusive |
The list will contain all base/leaf members of the specified parent. At the end of the list the parent member itself will be added formatted as sum. |
Base Exclusive |
The list will contain all base/leaf members of the specified parent. |
In the drill down result of a dynamic drill a total line item with a sum Format will be automatically added.
Note: If a list uses more than one dimension, then the dimension that should be used for drilling needs to be specified. This can be specified at the list item member level using the 'Drill Dimension' attribute.
Linked List
A fixed linked list is a List linked to a single list and created for the drill-down from a member of that list. The dimensionality of the linked list must be the same as the main list. There is no need for a hierarchical relation between the members of the main list and the linked list. An existing linked list connected to the current one can be selected, or the admin can create a new linked list.

Using Shared List for Drill
Besides Linked Lists and Dynamic Drill the admin can also use one of the available Shared lists as a drill. In the Drill field, click on select list. From here you can choose any Shared list.
Drill All Rows in a Table
You can expand/collapse all the rows in a table with one click.
By default, Show 'Drill All Rows' button is enabled in the application settings and Show Drill All Button is enabled at the table control level. Therefore, you will see a plus button Drill down all rows at the top left corner of each table. Clicking the plus button for a table will expand all the rows in the table. After the expansion, you can click on the plus button once again to collapse all the rows in the table.

Note: Show Drill All Button at the table level takes effect only when Show 'Drill All Rows' button is enabled in the application settings. When the latter is enabled, you can then use the former to show or hide the Drill down all rows button for a specific table.
